Liz has been training for quite a few years gaining Shodan in 2000 under Kanazawa, Nidan in 2003. Later in 2003 Liz took Gold in the masterclass Ladies kata competition in the South Africa World Champioships.

At the 9th SKIF world Championships held in Japan at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium (the 'Taikukan') in November 2006 Liz was graded to 3rd Dan, again directly by kancho Hirokazu Kanazawa 10th dan.
