To
understand the history of modern karate and how shotokan developed we need to
go to the time of Gichin Funakoshi which leads onto Masatoshi Nakayama who was an important student of
Funakoshi and together with him a teacher of Hirokazu Kanazawa.
This will enable a better understanding of the development of Post World War II Modern Shotokan Karate.
